What brings you the most joy or satisfaction in your work for God at Second? I love seeing people of all ages and backgrounds working together to serve God, each other, and people in need.
Where You’re From: Ballston Lake, New York; near Saratoga.
Family: Kari (Wife), Andrew and Aaron (Sons), Allie (Daughter)
Pets: Luna (female Golden doodle), Hobbs (3-legged rescue cat)
Fun Fact about you: I recently started acting with the Carlisle Theater.
Food: T-bone steak
TV Show: Anything that makes me laugh!
Place: Israel. I’ve been there 4 times and can’t wait to go again.
Anything else you may want people to know about you or info that they might find helpful: I love being a pastor! I was ordained in 1993 and came to Second in 2007.

What Do You Do at Second? In prayer and praise of our great God, and along with musical folks of all ages and stages, I wave my arms, tickle the ivories, sing to the heavens, and pull out all the stops!
What brings you the most joy or satisfaction in your work for God at Second? Using God's gift of music helps me feel the Holy Spirit's presence. My greatest joy is to bring that vessel, music, to the congregation and community, and to help people achieve musical accomplishments greater than they thought they could.

Fun Fact about you: I am fluent in French!

Anything else you may want people to know about you or info that they might find helpful: I will recruit you to sing or ring. ;) I also love people and learning their stories. Outside of church, teaching piano/voice, and directing Cantate Carlisle, let's enjoy some fellowship time together!
What Do You Do at Second? I complete and design most digital and paper communications, maintain second's database, filing systems, technology, and work as a team with all staff to aid them in their ministry.
What brings you the most joy or satisfaction in your work for God at Second? Being a part of the second family! I enjoy talking with members and staff and seeing people grow in their personal and faith journeys.

Fun Fact about you: I played softball all of my life and coached teen girls softball for 2 years.

Property Manager/Program Support
What Do You Do at Second? Maintain order and organize events throughout the building and campus with the help of many volunteers and Janitorial staff.
What brings you the most joy or satisfaction in your work for God at Second? The love many of our members show by volunteering and attending church and functions that are offered. The support given when a time of sadness or joy arises to a member or myself.
Where You’re From: New Oxford, PA
Family: Phil (Husband), two stepsons, wives and grandchildren, Eric, Erin, Elon and Jay, Greg, Janelle, Essa and Kai. Our daughter Rose and husband Trey and grandson, Jackson.
Fun Fact about you: not afraid to challenge myself to something new
Food: love to make salmon and asparagus
Hobby: cooking, baking, making wine
Place: warm places that allow me to be not on a schedule

What You Do at Second? With Pastor Jeff and the Adult Ministry Committee we provide opportunities for members to become disciples who make a difference.
What brings you the most joy or satisfaction in your work for God at Second? Watching our members move from being consumers of God's Word to people who serve, care and grow in their faith.

Fun Fact about you: I grew up on a dairy farm and taught agriculture for 15 years and I've been a Girl Scout Leader for 13 years.

What brings you the most joy or satisfaction in your work for God at Second? People enjoying an event and growing in faith and fellowship

What Do You Do at Second? Manage donations, expenses and overall financial information.
What brings you the most joy or satisfaction in your work for God at Second? Donating my time to the community as a member of the church. Helping church members when I can. They are all so grateful.
Where You’re From: Carlisle, PA all my life.
Family: Chris (son), Mandy and Bill Garth (daughter and son in law)
Pets: Rosie (Counter surfing Basset Hound), Dorie ( our lovable rescue cat that does not like me)
Fun Fact about you: Member of award winning Carlisle Band when it made its very first trip to the Kerkrade, Holland International Music Competition. Very proud moment for the town.

Place: Home, I have wonderful neighbors and a beautiful home that my son provides.
Anything else you may want people to know about you or info that they might find helpful: I had a stem cell transplant for Leukemia 17 years ago. I was very fortunate to have a wonderful sister as a donor and to have Hershey Medical Center and the church available to me and my family.
What Do You Do at Second? Alongside the Pastor, staff, and congregation I will be learning and helping to facilitate, teach, and create welcoming programs that empower young adults and young families to participate in the ways God calls each of us to love bigger and wider.
What brings you the most joy or satisfaction in your work for God at Second? I am excited to sit with, care with, create with and listen to God with the Second family.

Pets: VJ Hey Arnold (previously a racing greyhound, now a professional sleeper)
Fun Fact about you: I am the president of an education non-profit called God’s Precious Children in Liberia, West Africa.
Food: Japanese food and donuts
Hobby: Board games, reading, playing on the farm in Perry County with my 16 month old daughter
TV Show: I am a lover of books and podcasts
Place: Drinking a cold coke (with cane sugar) on our back porch, with our Liberian friends in the bush of Liberia, West Africa.
Anything else you may want people to know about you or info that they might find helpful: I am excited to get to know the Second Family at a deeper level, and also learn from the wisdom of the leadership of Second. I will be doing my pastoral internship with Second Presbyterian Church as one of the last requirements for my ordination into the PC(USA) denomination. My husband Andrew Hostetter’s new Pastoral Position at Centre Presbyterian Church is what brought us from the suburbs of Philadelphia to the beautiful countryside of Perry County.
