Worship

Welcome!  Let’s spend time with Jesus this Sunday.  We can’t wait to meet you!

Sunday Worship - 10:30 am

Connect

Following Jesus is better with friends!  God wants us to share our lives, our faith, our joys, and our struggles with people who matter deeply to us.  There are people like that ready to welcome you at Second; we’ll help you connect with them.  And if you want to launch a new group, we’ll show you how.

Grow

All living things grow—especially people.  At Second we help people grow closer to God and each other through spiritual retreats, tight-knit small groups, and creative hands-on service opportunities.  One of the best ways to grow your heart and mind for God is through Sunday morning or mid-week classes.

  • Do you need to study the Bible—maybe for the first time?

  • Do you need to learn more about how your faith relates to your love life, or parenting, or managing your debt?

  • Or maybe you want to know what it means to follow Jesus as your “Lord” and “Savior.”

Choose the class that’s right for where you are in your relationship with God.

Serve

Jesus’ followers help others.  Why?  Because that’s what Jesus did and taught.

Our members serve inside and outside our building’s walls.  We lead in caring for the Greater Carlisle community, serving across racial, economic, and religious divides.  We’re also a “family” in which we encourage every family member – of every age — to contribute to our life together as a volunteer in one or more of our internal ministries.

How many people does it take build God’s kingdom of love and justice?  Everyone, including you!

Belong

Commitment can be scary.  But any bride or groom will tell you that something special happens when you commit your future to someone; it changes the relationship for the better.  Belonging to a local church family opens possibilities for deeper faith and connection.  There is suddenly a sense that “we’re here for each other, through thick and thin.”  In our Second Family we help and mentor each other, celebrate joys together and share tears and set-backs.  We know that we not only matter to God; we also know we matter to each other.  We pray that God will lead you to the point when you want to belong as a member of our Second Family.

When you are ready to join the Second Family, please contact a staff member. Until then, know that you are special to God and to us.
