Our nursery facilities are available during 9:00 Sunday School and the 10:30 service.
Ages: During the Sunday School hour the nursery is available to infants through children age 2. During the Worship service it is available for babies through children age 5 not in Kindergarten.
Staffing: Our nurseries are staffed by a paid professional caregiver and adult volunteers who serve on a rotating basis. All volunteers and staff are screened with law enforcement agencies prior to participation on our children’s ministry team. We also have a team of trained youth who volunteer on a rotating basis.

Director of Christian Education
The Sunday morning and Wednesday evening programming for children are my responsibility at Second Presbyterian Church. I have one of the most important jobs in the church: helping our children to grow, love, and serve. My goal is to work with parents to give children a firm foundation to make the Bible, the stories, and the church come alive for them. If we can train our children while they are young and give them wonderful experiences in the church, we can give them the tools they need for the future.
Sunday Morning Nursery/Pre-school Caregiver
Positively affecting the lives of young children is both a blessing and responsibility I have on a daily basis, and I am so grateful for the opportunity. As an employee of the Big Spring School District for the past eight years, I have been privileged to serve as a Learning Support Paraprofessional and a TSS. My experience working with Pre-K in the District’s Summer program, as well as with two Kindergarten Teachers have served me well in preparation for the position here. My husband Steve, and my sons, Spencer (21) and Christian (15) and I reside in the Newville area.
Ever since I was blessed with a younger brother at the age of eight, I knew my passion would be working with children. My senior year of high school allowed me to explore multiple internships in Mount Rock Elementary School, as well as Little Lambs Daycare, which I have now been currently employed at for over a year. I am lucky enough to be able to work in almost all of the classrooms, my main focus being infants and toddlers. These children teach me more and more everyday about how to explore the world with new eyes, find excitement in the smallest things, and love without fear. I know every day that I leave work, my life has been made better by those little hearts!
I am currently a sophomore at Shippensburg University studying Early Childhood Education, as well as Special Education and cannot wait to begin changing children’s lives for the better!
